NMSTE OutstandingTeacher and Leader awards   
Each year NMSTE selects an Outstanding Teacher or Leader from among the many qualified educators in New Mexico.  Criteria for selection are that the nominee:


  • Is a NMSTE member


  • Has had a significant postive impact on technology use in education locally, regionally, statewide, nationally, or worldwide.
  • Has involved the community in the initiative or program to facilitate partnerships with business and/or legislative initiations to advance the use of technology in education.
  • Works tirelessly to genuinely improve the quality of education.
  • Has demonstrated his/her ability to both deliberately plan for and incorporate the use of technology for the purpose of improving theeducational setting.
  • Is an active member of professional organizations.
  • Has contributed to the profession by presenting at professional conferences, seminars and/or workshops or publishing articles in printor through electronic media.
  • The quality of education and/or work experience has been significantly advanced in the nominee's workplace as a result of thenominees' efforts.
  • TEACHER is a PK-12 Teacher
  • LEADER is NOT a PK-12 Teacher
